Dublin, Ireland(11 Aug 2016)

The QYOU, the world’s leading curator of internet video for the TV Everywhere market, today announces its latest linear channel deal with KNIPPR, a recently launched OTT service in the Netherlands, to deliver The QYOU’s curated line-up of internet content to its subscribers. This marks further expansion for The QYOU in The Netherlands, following its partnership with Ziggo Sport earlier this year.

As cord-cutting and cord-shaving gathers pace, it’s clear that consumers are increasingly seeking an alternative to costly traditional cable  bundles. KNIPPR’s commitment-free OTT service delivers flexibility and choice by allowing subscribers to choose the channels they want on top of the Dutch standard offering, and drop them at the end of the monthly subscription period if they no longer want them. By selecting to distribute The QYOU’s curated short-form content, KNIPPR will deliver on its promise of providing video that is current and relevant for its audience, without the premium price tag.

Commenting on the announcement, Johan Trouwborst, Vice President at KNIPPR said: “Our goal is to build a service that delivers a broad selection of channels – both popular and niche – and to provide our viewers with the freedom to watch what they want, when they want, on whatever device they choose. This type of flexible, a la carte model reflects what most consumers today want – not just younger viewers but everyone who is dissatisfied with the traditional cable offer. With its fresh approach, The QYOU is the perfect channel for bringing the exciting world of online video to multiscreen OTT.”

The QYOU brings the best of the web to subscription TV services. Its international feed of web content is offered in HD and commercial free, representing a unique addition to linear channel line-ups. Furthermore it can be complemented by a VOD service and mobile app to help meet the needs of an increasingly multiscreen, TV Everywhere world.

“We are really excited to work with such an innovative company that targets a significant proportion of today’s consumers - those who want more flexibility and less commitment without sacrificing quality of content,” commented Scott Ehrlich, CEO of The QYOU. “As we have witnessed working with Ziggo and TV Vlaanderan, there is a huge video culture in the Netherlands, and we are thrilled to help KNIPPR by bringing our ‘best of the web’ short form content to its subscribers.”
