Craftwork launches Omnix service based multiplatform solution for delivering VoD operator content to Smart-TVs

Copenhagen(18 Mar 2011)

2011 promised to be the year where connected, or Smart-TV's, finally entered the main stream providing operators with an additional route to deliver content to the big screen. However, with a highly fragmented range of platforms operators face the technical headache, and cost, of developing and integrating, multiple applications to ensure their content reaches the widest possible audience. Craftwork, a leading developer for the digital TV industry, aims to solve that headache and high upfront costs with its Omnix service based solution for delivering operators VoD content across all major platforms.

Craftwork's Managing Director Søren Mou Jakobsen commented "having been developing TV centric applications for the last ten years, Craftwork knew it was well positioned to help operators develop applications for the new breed of Smart-TVs. However, from our customer discussions we kept hearing of their frustration of how difficult, and expensive, it was to support so many proprietary platforms" Jakobsen then added, "that's how our Omnix multiplatform solution was conceived. By offering a single service based solution supporting all of the leading Smart-TV platforms including Samsung, LG, Yahoo!, plus soon Google TV, we reduce the risk, complexity and cost of delivering your content to this growing market."

The Omnix service provides operators with a cost efficient service to reach multiple platforms with minimal upfront costs. It also seeks to maximise operator's efficiency and minimise costs by integrating with their existing VoD backend systems. Craftwork will be displaying its Omnix Smart-TV solution at the IP&TV World Forum in London 22-24 March.
