Customers of SIDSA, a Madrid-based maker of audiovisual technology for broadcasters and network operators, will soon find it easier to reach the growing audience for online and mobile video. The company is integrating Wowza Media Services 2 into its line of digital TV products, with the goal of extending the reach of existing content.

Wowza's media server will let SIDSA customers reach online and mobile audiences without purchasing a proprietary system. Using one source, they'll be able to deliver video and audio to devices running Flash, Silverlight, and QuickTime. They'll also be able to serve IPTV set-top boxes, Android devices, BlackBerry phones, and Apple's mobile products.

SIDSA's customers include Spain's Telefonica, RTVE, and Axion, as well as Italy's RAI and Russia's OTB. Wowza's video delivery products have been used in the entertainment, social media, advertising, enterprise, education, and government verticals.

"SIDSA has a proven record in TV distribution over IP and in the emerging WebTV and MobileTV markets that present a tremendous global opportunity for both companies," says Dave Stubenvoll, CEO and co-founder of Wowza Media Systems. "The combination of SIDSA digital TV products and the Wowza Media Server technology lets broadcasters take advantage of the rapidly evolving online TV consumption trends."
