Viewers in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway will soon have a new viewing option, as Viacom International Media Networks will launch Paramount+, a subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service, on October 1.

Paramount+ will offer new releases, classic movies, and TV series from Viacom networks. Movie titles include Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, Fences, Monster Trucks, and xXx: Return of Xander Cage. TV shows, many of which are from MTV or Comedy Central, include Geordie Shore, South Park, and Broad City. At launch, the service will include over 800 TV show episodes.

Viacom is working with regional pay TV operations or distribute the offering. Subscribers in Denmark will be able to get it through YouSee or Telenor/Canal Digital; those in Sweden can use Com Hem or Telenor/Canal Digital; and those in Norway can use Get and Telenor/Canal Digital.

Paramount+ will let subscribers stream content to multiple devices. The company has not yet announced pricing or the number of user accounts or concurrent streams each subscription can have. This is the first time Viacom has packaged its movie and TV assets into an SVOD offering.

Paramount+ is a groundbreaking concept for us and an important extension of our pay TV offer to our linear distribution partners," says Andrea Sahlgren, senior vice president and general manager for VIMN Nordics.
