Deltatre Acquires Massive Interactive to Boost UX Offerings
Deltatre is acquiring Massive Interactive, and believes the combined company will appeal to more than sports streamers.
Deltatre's reputation is in online sports media technology, as the Bruin Sports Capital company's Amplify OTT platform is used by ATP's Tennis TV, NFL Game Pass Europe, Juventus Pass, FINA TV, and more. In acquiring Massive Interactive, it gains user experience (UX) and personalization technology that it hopes will expand its business into the entertainment sector. In a press statement, it singled out Massive's Axis UX management console as a "ground-breaking" offering that will complement its existing end-to-end OTT product suite.
Neither company disclosed the price of the acquisition, which is subject to customary approvals. When the move is completed, Massive Interactive will operate as a division within Deltatre. At close, Deltatre will have 18 offices around the globe with nearly 1,000 fulltime employees.
Customers of Massive Interactive include BBC Worldwide, Bell Media, Channel 5, Sony Pictures Television, and more.
“Deltatre is one of the most prominent and experienced technology companies in the world of live sport and therefore the ideal partner to help accelerate our global growth strategy," says Ron Downey, CEO and co-founder of Massive Interactive. "The integration of our targeted UX platform, Massive Axis, with Deltatre’s robust product portfolio will combine to offer our customers a highly scalable, quick-to-market solution that drives engagement and increase the profitability of over-the-top video services."
Multiscreen viewing has finally hit the mass market. Viewers around the globe will be able to view every angle of play on any connected device.
