Amazon has launched its Amazon Channel offering in the U.K., Germany, and Austria. Already available in the U.S., Amazon Channels gives Amazon Prime subscribers the option of signing up for a variety of other premium channels through their Amazon accounts. In the U.K., over 40 channels are available ranging in prices from £1.49 to £9.49 per month. German and Austrian customers have over 25 channels to choose from. Customers are able to start and stop subscriptions when they want, with no commitment.

Channels available in the U.K. include MGM for Hollywood movies, Nordic Noir and Beyond for crime thrillers, and Discovery for documentaries. Customers can choose ITV Hub+ for catch-up viewing, or pick from several sport, fitness, children's, cultural, and niche interest channels. Amazon notes that many of these channels are now available for the first time outside of bundled options. More channels will debut in the coming months, the company says.

"From live sport to Bollywood, arthouse cinema to reality TV, and award-winning TV shows from popular channels like Discovery and ITV, Amazon Channels gives power back to customers to choose exactly what they want to watch," says Alex Green, managing director Europe for Amazon Channels.

Customers can access Amazon Channels through the Prime Video app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, Amazon tablets and TV devices, connected TVs, and game consoles.

Amazon Channels first launched in the U.S. in 2015 as Amazon Streaming Partners.
