Online video advertising platform Adap.tv, already established in the United States, is pushing into the United Kingdom starting today with the opening of an office in London.

The company notes, as a reason for its expansion, that online video advertising is growing quickly in Europe, and that spending in the U.K. rose by 82 percent in H1, 2010, according to the IAB's biannual advertising expenditure report.

Adap.tv's Marketplace allows content publishers and advertisers to connect. It serves more than 4,000 sites with over 60 million unique visitors monthly, working with hundreds of advertising campaigns each day. comScore's U.K. video metrix lists Adap.tv as the largest online video property by video ads viewed, with more than 74 million monthly video views and over 4 million unique visitors each month.

"Video advertising in the U.K. is exploding and while we have seen an incredible amount of demand from both advertisers and publishers, they still face challenges in being able to effectively buy and sell inventory," says Sean Crawford, vice president of international business at Adap.tv. "The Adap.tv Marketplace provides both sides with the tools they need to break through these complexities, enabling them to scale their businesses and meet their video advertising goals."
