Tvinci Powers ‘Ximon.nl' Pay-OTT TV Service for Filmotech

Widens European reach to offer TV and film content to Dutch viewers online

Tel Aviv(26 May 2011)

Tvinci, the Pay Over-the-Top video platform provider, today announced that it is powering Filmotech's Dutch online video portal, Ximon.nl. The recently launched Pay-TV service features an extensive range of content, offering users the ability to view a variety of recent and classic films, documentaries or TV dramas across PC and MAC, with a further expansion expected to other devices including Mobile and Connected TV. An additional 1500 hours of content is also due to be added to the service within the next 12 months.

"Through Ximon, the Dutch audience is provided with a constantly expanding, unmatched library of high-quality local video content in a first-of-its-kind service in the Netherlands," says Marc Jurgens, CEO, Ximon. "Using Tvinci's platform, we are able to offer multiple payment methods and combine a variety of business models suited to the service, including discounted packages for particular films and TV collections, as well as special offers such as ‘movie of the week.' Thanks to the vast content library we gathered and the user-friendly interface and business models we're using, I believe that Ximon users find it easier and more convenient to find, purchase and watch their favourite content."

The Ximon service combines Tvinci's interactive social engagement features together with the integration of a widely held local payment method in The Netherlands called iDEAL which, alongside usage of other payment methods like credit cards and PayPal, provides consumers with greater flexibility.

To coincide with this deployment, Tvinci has appointed a new country manager in the Netherlands.

"This expansion into the Dutch market reflects the fast growth in demand for OTT TV throughout Europe, and we look forward to continuing to innovate in this region and provide the tools that our customers, and their consumers, are looking for," said Yonatan Sela, VP Marketing, Tvinci. "The European OTT market continues to evolve in interesting directions, as broadcasters are starting to harness the power that lies in the combination of Hbbtv and OTT, alongside operators that launch OTT TV in order to complement existing services. Filmotech's fantastic initiative - Ximon - is part of a third group of OTT players: content aggregators who launch localized cross-device VOD services that may significantly influence the media industry in their local markets."

Tvinci's MediaHub and MediaStore together compose the comprehensive OTT platform deployed by Ximon. Offering users more than a purely ad-supported service, MediaHub and MediaStore provide a unique environment in which the business rules and payment methods presented fit the interests and consumption habits of the viewer - thereby maximizing sales of content.
