Streamstar's Webcast Prodigy Simplifies Streaming fro Broadcasters

Live-streaming technology provider launches its latest game-changing studio workstation

London(20 Oct 2014)

STREAMSTAR has launched WEBCAST PRODIGY - the most advanced, versatile and affordable studio workstation streaming system. With more HDMI, HD-SDI and IP inputs than any other product on the market, and with completely unique quad channel replay and slow-motion benefits, the revolutionary workstation will enable broadcasters to bring any multi-camera production to life, regardless of location on a local, national or global scale.

The WEBCAST PRODIGY studio workstation allows for a completely tailored control over every aspect of high quality content output. With the ability to connect any type of camera to the system via multiple inputs, plus the option to ingest external content via an additional DVI/HDMI input, making live streaming easy and accessible across all platforms. The workstation also features replays and slow motion over all feeds within the workflow. At the touch of a button, a replay preview is created from all camera angles and is immediately available to be played back. The slow-motion replay playback speed is 50% by default, but can be controlled on the fly, ranging from ultra-slow to fast.

As the latest addition to STREAMSTAR’s WEBCAST family of products, the WEBCAST PRODIGYworkstation can handle the most complex national and global streaming productions. With everything a multi-camera remote production requires, the system includes instant and unlimited playback without the need for transcoding. WEBCAST PRODIGY is also breaking broadcast boundaries with a selection of additional features that include automated cutting, crossfade and transitions switching modes, a full-featured audio mixer and a built-in proprietary STREAMSTAR encoder for easier transitions and transfers throughout the production.

Rado Toth, chief executive officer at Streamstar, said: “Live streaming technology has recently undergone radical changes, and it’s time for broadcasters to upgrade their streaming capabilities to ensure content reaches as wide an audience as possible. This revolutionary workstation will especially benefit content providers wanting to achieve anytime, anyplace reach to any device, whether viewing is via a traditional TV set or a smartphone on the move.”

With a three year warranty on all hardware and free software upgrades, WEBCAST PRODIGY is the most affordable streaming solution on the market. To mark its launch, STREAMSTAR is offering incentives with the purchase of any workstation. These include 12 months of cloud based streaming with a subscription worth over £500 to STREAMSTAR CLOUD, along with a free USB keypad worth over £100.
