Streamstar Integrates Global Broadband TV Platform With Octoshape Infinite HD-M Webcast product line adds support for the Infinite HD-M multicast-enabled ecosystem

Streamstar, the Slovakia-based manufacturer of the Webcast portable and compact video encoding line of products for the broadband video industry, announced today an integration with Octoshape.

BRATISLAVA(22 Jan 2013)

The initiative enables the Streamstar Webcast line of encoding and production systems to publish video streams to the Octoshape Infinite HD-M Federated Linear Broadband TV Platform, an industry-first service that enables flat rate business models utilizing Multicast over broadband for high quality linear video delivery.

Recent events were successfully delivered via the joint solution including the Fight Explosion 2012 Thai Boxing Tournament, and the Red Bull Salute Trophy Hockey tournament, delivering high quality video streams to viewers around the world.

"720P HD streams were delivered for the events and the results were spectacular,” said Mr. Michal Ivanic, CTO of Streamstar. “Quality assurance monitoring sites were deployed all over the world during the streaming of the events and we were able to provide flawless coverage using the joint solution."

The partnership leverages the feature-rich, portable and high quality linear video encoding solutions of Streamstar combined with the Octoshape Infinite HD-M linear OTT platform, which enables TV quality video delivery over broadband. With the Infinite HD-M ‘flat rate per channel’ pricing model for linear channels, broadcasters can now deliver linear video with predictable and affordable economics.

“The Streamstar solution addresses an important segment for our customers relative to portable and compact encoding solutions for venue and event production,” said Michael Koehn Milland, CEO of Octoshape. “Infinite HD-M ensures that the quality of video coming out of the Streamstar system is preserved across the Internet from the first to the last mile. Combined with the predictable business models of Infinite HD-M, broadcasters get flexible encoding, and high quality video for their consumers globally”.
