FutureVideo V-Station HD Studio8 Chosen By Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) To Record Moon Mission Rocket Launch

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chose FutureVideo V-Station HD Studio8 Multi-Channel Streaming DVR Systems To Record Its Moon Mission Rocket Launch

Laguna Hills, California USA(03 Sep 2019)

3 September 2019, Laguna Niguel, California—Multi-Channel DVR pioneer FutureVideo Products, Inc. revealed today that its V-Station HD Studio8 Multi-Channel/Multi-Stream DVR Systems were the choice of Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) to record rocket launch videos for their Chandrayaan 2 mission to the moon’s south pole. SDSC chose FutureVideoover several well-known DVR manufacturers, based on Studio8’slong recording times and project management capabilities. Studio8 also provided SDSC with the ability to log and annotate any frame being recorded—or later during playback. With up to 8TB of video storage and 8 channels of simultaneous 1080p60 synchronized recording/playback, SDSC is able to record up to 320 hours per channel (2,560 total hours) with each of their Studio8 systems.

Chandrayaan 2 was launched 22 July 2019 from the Sriharikota Space Centre (SHAR) located off the coast of India’s Andhra Pradesh state. The spacecraft is scheduled to deploy its Vikram lander and attempt a soft moon landing on 7 September. It will then open its hatch for the Pragyan lunar rover to search out water deposits that were confirmed to exist by a previous ISRO mission.

According to Stephen Godfrey, FutureVideo’s Director of Business Development, “Satish Dhawan Space Centre had a set of unique needs that fell comfortably within V-Station HD Studio8’s capabilities. In addition to the V-Station HD Studio Companion Software, our engineers provided certain special enhancements SDSC sought. The Indian Space Research Organisation’s tender for the eight custom Studio8 units was awarded last year to Systronics (India) Limited’s Telerad division in Chennai. While details about how the Studio8 systems are being used are mostly classified, we’re as excited as our SDSC/SHAR and Telerad colleagues for a successful mission.”

V-Station HD Multi-Channel/Multi-Stream DVR Systems combine project management, media management, recording, switching, automatic line-cut creation, live streaming, and content distribution in a 2U rack-mount enclosure. They are available in 4 and 8-channel models and in HDMI, SDI-SMA, and SDI-BNC configurations. Often referred to as “the Swiss Army Knife” of multi-channel/multi-stream DVRs, V-Station HD models are unmatched in their price range.

V-Station HD Studio8’s USA MSRP starts at only $7,995 and can be customized to accommodate special user needs.
