Cambium Brings World’s First IP Wireless GIGATOWER™ to Eurasia Com

New solution enables service providers across Central and Eastern Europe to expand capacity for their customers

UK(18 Mar 2013)

18 March 2013Cambium Networks, leading provider of wireless broadband solutions, is showcasing the world’s first IP Wireless GIGATOWER at this year’s Eurasia Com, taking place 26 – 27 March in Istanbul, Turkey. The new wireless broadband access solution delivers the industry’s highest level of throughput for enterprises and triple-play service providers across the region, and enables them to further expand capacity to existing customers, while offering high capacity broadband to new customers, in urban, suburban and rural environments.

Based on the Canopy Point-to-Multipoint (PMP) 450 platform, the new Canopy PMP GIGATOWER shatters the bandwidth barrier that can transform a network to a huge capacity triple play capable offering. By delivering ample bandwidth which can easily support HD Video and IPTV as well as voice, utilising the very low Canopy latency, the ability to drive new services is optimized. For those looking to deploy a more extensive network, the PMP 450’s modular design allows the GIGATOWER to provide more than 1 gigabit of broadband capacity and extend coverage area to more than 75 square miles (120 square kilometers).

Ian Bayly, VP EMEA Sales and Marketing at Cambium Networks, says: “Central and Eastern Europe is quickly catching up with its counterparts and in some areas, is leapfrogging Western markets by creating new market opportunities. With growing penetration of broadband services in the region, and with Turkey at the epicentre of this growth, Istanbul provides the perfect platform for us to showcase our GIGATOWER to regional service providers.

“Our new solution is specifically designed for service providers so that they can reach customers months before they could be reached by wireline technology. It provides scalability that enables their networks to grow, while keeping pace with business operations.”

Cambium, which is sponsoring the event, provides exceptional wireless broadband connectivity solutions. With 4 million modules deployed in thousands of networks across the world, Cambium’s solutions are proven to provide cost effective, reliable data, voice and video connectivity.

Mr. Bayly will deliver a presentation that focuses on Connecting EurAsia on the first day of the event. He will also form the Expert Roundtable that explores ‘Meeting Broadband Needs Across EurAsia’ also on day one at 12:25pm. Eurasia Com will take place 26-27 March at the Swissotel The Bosphorus, Istanbul, Turkey.
