Boxing fans gear up for a great summer of action with new BoxNation app

BoxNation, Britain’s first and only dedicated boxing channel, has announced the launch of its new streaming app which will allow boxing fans to watch exclusive fights live and on demand from their smartphone and tablet.

Subscribers to the app, which was designed and built by SimpleStream, can now stream all BoxNation fights live and on demand to their Apple and Android phones and tablets, along with exclusive access to interviews and a premium back catalogue of fights from the last 3 months.  They are also able to set reminders so that they never miss a fight again.

 

Since soft launching on Apple and Android at the beginning of May the apps have generated a number of positive user reviews:

The BoxNation apps use SimpleStream’s proprietary CatchupTV technology. Fans therefore benefit from being able to re-watch recently aired fights with minimal delay. Videos are delivered using multi bitrate streaming, optimised for mobile and tablet screen sizes. The apps are fully airplay compliant and can be used to watch BoxNation from anywhere in the UK and Ireland using 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi.

Boxing fans can now purchase the app and take advantage of the channel’s action-packed summer of live and exclusive fights including the Golden Boy Promotions triple header live from Texas on Saturday 27 July, headlined by knock out kings Andre Berto vs Jesus Soto Karass in the Vacant NABF Welterweight Championship. Also featuring Diego Gabriel Chaves vs Keith Thurman in the Interim WBA World Welterweight Championship and Omar Figueroa vs Nihoto Arakawain the Interim WBC World Lightweight Championship.

 

Other highlights include Nathan Cleverly’s toughest test to date as world champion when he lines up the unbeaten Russian Sergey Kovalev on 17 August in the WBO Light-Heavyweight Championship and 14 September is set to be the biggest night of boxing this year when Floyd Maywether Jnr faces Saul Alvaerz in the WBC and WBA Super World Light-Middleweight Championships and Danny Garcia defends his WBC and WBA Super World Light-Welterweight titles against the Argentine knock out machine Lucas Martin Matthysse. The big night on BoxNation kicks off with a top Sauerland event live from Germany where ‘Captain’ Marco Huck will face Firat Arslan in the WBO World Cruiserweight title rematch.

The BoxNation app is available for £9.99 per month, ready to download from the Google Play store for Android users and the Apple Store for iPhone/iPad.
