Vertical TV platform RoseBerry and Fremantle have teamed up to bring one of television’s most enduring soaps to a new generation of mobile-first viewers, with Neighbours being reimagined as a premium vertical series this fall.
The project will see storylines from the Neighbours archive transformed into short-form, vertical-native episodes through RedSnapper, RoseBerry’s proprietary AI-assisted production workflow for transforming television and film libraries into premium vertical entertainment. RoseBerry plans to introduce numerous storylines from the popular TV franchise and programme them as standalone vertical titles.
Neighbours is one of television’s most iconic and enduring dramas. First launched in 1985, the Australian soap spanned more than 40 years and over 9,300 episodes, captivating audiences around the world and becoming one of Australia’s most successful entertainment exports. Renowned for its storytelling and cultural impact, Neighbours has also served as a launchpad for some of the industry’s biggest names, including Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Guy Pearce and Margot Robbie, cementing its place as a global television phenomenon.
The first Neighbours vertical series will launch on epis, RoseBerry’s direct-to-consumer streaming service for premium vertical television, reimagining some of the soap’s most engaging and recognisable story arcs for mobile-first audiences. By drawing on a library built across more than four decades, the project celebrates the enduring cultural impact of Neighbours while introducing Ramsay Street to a new generation of viewers.
Guy Hameiri, Co-Founder and CEO of RoseBerry Media, said: "Neighbours is an iconic piece of television history and exactly the kind of premium entertainment IP we believe can thrive in the vertical format. This is the first time we've had the opportunity to apply RedSnapper to a long-running soap with such a rich library of characters, storylines and cultural moments, and Fremantle has been a fantastic partner in helping bring that vision to life.
For RoseBerry, this is a powerful proof point for the infrastructure we are building to support the future of premium vertical television. By combining proprietary technology, audience intelligence and distribution capabilities, we're enabling rights holders to reimagine established libraries for mobile-first audiences, generate new insights and unlock new commercial opportunities.
We believe premium vertical television will become a significant new entertainment category, and partnerships like this demonstrate how iconic IP can find new audiences, new relevance and new value in that future ecosystem.”
Jens Richter, CEO Commercial and International at Fremantle, said: “Neighbours has an extraordinary legacy, with decades of memorable characters, stories and talent. Working with RoseBerry allows us to explore incredible archive in an entirely new way, bringing much-loved IP to new audiences while demonstrating how established television libraries can continue to evolve, find new relevance and importantly create new commercial opportunities. It’s an exciting example of how technology and creative thinking can unlock new value from our diverse catalogue and content library.”
RedSnapper can scan decades of episodes to map character arcs, storylines and standout moments, helping editors quickly identify the strongest material. Its 12-step AI-assisted workflow allows the creative team to focus on shaping stories for mobile-first audiences rather than manual reformatting.
The project builds on RoseBerry and Fremantle’s existing partnership and demonstrates RoseBerry’s wider “library verticalization” model: combining proprietary technology with human editorial expertise to unlock new audiences and value from established IP. RoseBerry launched epis globally in July 2026 as a dedicated streaming destination for premium vertical television, with more than 100 titles spanning original productions and established television IP professionally adapted for mobile viewing.
The platform also acts as an audience intelligence layer for RoseBerry and its partners, generating insight into viewing behaviour, engagement, genre demand and how established entertainment IP performs when reimagined for vertical audiences.
RoseBerry’s vertical industry-first agreements include Fremantle, A+E Global Media, All3Media International, Banijay Rights and Cineflix Rights to repurpose selected shows from their libraries into premium vertical television.
The first Neighbours vertical series will premiere on epis this fall, with further details to be announced.
