The Shortlist: Streaming Media Europe's 2026 Innovation Awards Finalists
We've counted all the votes, and we'll be announcing the winners of the 2026 Streaming Media European Readers' Choice Awards in the Autumn issue of the European edition of Streaming Media Europe magazine (and here as well). Now in its 17th year, this year’s programme attracted more than 1,100 participants who cast over 7,500 votes across 13 distinct categories.
As always, defining the proper mix of categories to represent the multifaceted European streaming ecosystem is a deliberative process. Each year, we reassess our categories to best reflect the fast-changing market, then invite nominations from the community. It’s often fascinating—and even surprising—to see how the industry and the professionals who use these products and services cast their ballots, revealing emerging trends and shifts in the solutions and services on offer.
Eligibility for the 2026 awards, as in prior editions, was limited to companies headquartered in Europe or the UK. (The Readers’ Choice Awards for US-based and international companies will follow in the Fall issue of Streaming Media.) For companies with headquarters scattered about the globe, we asked them to commit to just one awards programme. 2026 Innovation Awards entrants are not eligible for the 2026 RCAs.
When all the ballots are in, we cull the herd, discarding votes from illegitimate email addresses as well as those by employees casting ballots for their own companies’ products, lest we give an unfair edge to operations with the largest and most loyal staffs.
