The digital sports media group Perform has announced that its viewers will soon gain extra sports coverage, thanks to an agreement with Sky Deutschland. The two companies have created a partnership that will let Perform's ePlayer stream Sky Deutschland's sports channels in Germany and Austria. ePlayer is a video-on-demand platform for sports content.

ePlayer will gain Sky Deutschland's branded channels, which show sports new and highlight clips. The channels will include highlights from Bundesliga football, the English Premier League, Wimbledon, and more. News clips will come from Sky Sport News HD.

Even before the partnership, ePlayer was a major sports streamer. In December, 2012, comScore ranked it the number two sport video network in Germany. Through syndication arrangements, ePlayer streamed 4.5 billion videos in 2012 to 24 countries. It delivers to 120 million unique users each month.

Perform's ad sales business, Mediasports, will generate revenue from the new ePlayer channels with ads.

"This partnership complements all the other great content we are already streaming and distributing on ePlayer," says Manuel Lopez, the managing director for Perform Germany. "The additional highlights from Sky's sports programming ensures that we are providing the best and most relevant sports content for brands to help engage with online fans."
