Blinkx and Dailymotion Forge Revenue-Sharing Agreement

Video-sharing site Dailymotion and video search engine Blinkx have entered into an agreement meant to enhance search engine results and advertising revenue. Under the agreement, Dailymotion's player will appear within Blinkx content pages, letting Blinkx users view Dailymotion's content directly within the Blinkx site. Dailymotion will then show ads on that content, splitting the revenue with Blinkx.

The agreement brings quick access to Dailymotion's library of over 30 million videos to Blinkx users. Blinkx has over 800 content partners already, and has a searchable index of over 35 million hours of video and audio clips.

"This agreement enhances our video index with a rich library of compelling and varied video content," says S. Brian Mukherjee, CEO of Blinkx. "Adding Dailymotion to our strong roster of partners enables us to continue to grow our index of up-to-date videos and ensure we deliver our video-viewing audience the very best in entertainment content."

Blinkx is joining Dailymotion's Publisher platform, which offers publishers an incentive to put Dailymotion's independent and premium videos on their pages. The program brings more content to a site, says Luc Dumont, senior vice president of international development for Dailymotion, as well as more time spent on the site and greater monetization.
