AOL announced today that it is launching a United Kingdom version of its online video hub AOL On.

AOL On first launched in the United States and Canada nearly two years ago. While AOL had a large amount of both original and curated video on its sites, it lacked a central hub where viewers could find all of that content. AOL On was the company's answer.

The U.K. version of AOL On will offer videos targeted to the U.K. viewer. The hub will stream video from content providers Endemol Beyond, Channel 4 News, ITN, Scripps Networks International, My Movies, Zoom. In,, and Little Dot Studios. Contributions from Little Dot will include clips from shows such as "Supernanny" and "Embarrassing Bodies," AOL notes.

The AOL On Network has grown to over 750,000 videos, the company says. AOL On content is syndicated in the U.K. on Trinity Mirror, Telegraph Media Group, and TalkTalk, as well as AOL properties The Huffington Post U.K., AOL, Parentdish, MyDaily, and TechCrunch.

When AOL On launched in April, 2012, Ran Harnevo, now president of video at AOL, noted, "It's all about curation, programming, experiences -- bringing back some good old TV flavor to the Web. Then when you talk about AOL and entertainment, you have the entertainment channel on the video hub, but you also have the entertainment channel being syndicated to all of our properties."
