The 2023 Streaming Media Innovation Award Winners

The votes are in! After a frenzied voting cycle, we’re thrilled to announce the winners of the 2023 Streaming Media Europe Innovation Awards. This year’s 15th annual awards saw more than 1,500 voters cast more than 10,000 votes for products nominated in 13 categories.

As ever, defining the categories that encompass the streaming industry’s diverse range of products and services means choosing carefully which categories belong and which we consign to the cutting-room floor. Each year, we reassess the categories to make sure they represent as accurately as possible all of the companies that serve the streaming media market. Then we open up the call for nominations. We’re often surprised and always intrigued to see the categories take shape and how each group of products and services evolves year over year.

As with past editions of the Innovation Awards, in 2023 we’ve limited inclusion to companies with headquarters in Europe and the UK. (Our annual Readers’ Choice Awards, featuring the top vote-getters based in the US and the rest of the world, will be announced in the November/December issue of the US edition of Streaming Media.) If a company has two headquarters, we’ve asked it to pick one awards programme or the other and held it to its selection.

When all of the ballots are in, we review them carefully, discarding votes from illegitimate email addresses as well as those clearly cast by employees stuffing the ballot boxes for their own companies’ products, lest we give an unfair edge to operations with the largest and most loyal internal fan bases.

As in years past, we’ve recognised one winner and two runners-up in each category (with runners-up listed here alphabetically). Congratulations to one and all!
