The Result
At its peak, there were more than 186,000 stream requests made to the event servers by the trust’s network and home viewers during the ceremony.

Alison Rees, executive assistant to the director of governance for the trust, was unable to make the event but says, “To still feel part of something without being in attendance made me feel really proud to work for Heartlands. I watched the full ceremony online—there were no hitches on the web link whatsoever, totally clear picture and sound and I don’t think it would have been any better if I had been there in person.”

Using live internet broadcasting projected the awards to people directly involved with the trust, wherever they were, as the event unfolded. Global-MIX also provided a video on demand service so the broadcast could be viewed online by staff at any time.

According to Dunn, “The Awards are an extremely important event in the Trust’s calendar and an occasion that no-one involved should miss. Global-MIX’s outside broadcast service gave everyone within The Trust the opportunity to watch the ceremony, even those who couldn’t be physically present at the awards.”
