The signal-to-noise ratio surrounding the business and technology of online video and audio has become almost unbearable in recent years, but Streaming Media Europe has always held fast that our role is to be the filter of the industry, helping you focus on the issues and topics that not only matter today but will continue to matter in the future. In keeping with that philosophy, we're moving this year's conference from the noisy autumn to the end of June, and renaming it the "Streaming Forum, brought to you by Streaming Media Europe." We feel that better reflects the role that the Forum plays: a top-level networking conference and information exchange for the innovators and decision-makers of the industry.
It's the speakers that define our event, and I'm pleased to announce that the Call for Speakers for Streaming Forum 2013 is now open. So if you've got an idea for a thought-provoking panel, an insightful paper presentation, or an innovative "how-to" session, submit your proposal now, before it's too late—the deadline for submissions is Thursday 28 February. In particular, we're looking for speakers who can share their expertise and vision in the following key hot spots:
- Encoding and Transcoding
- Live Event Webcasting
- Corporate Communications
- Formats, Protocols, and Standards
(especially HEVC and MPEG DASH)
- Online Video Delivery Infrastructure
- Education & Training
- Media & Entertainment
If you've got questions, or want to run some ideas past us before making a formal submission, don't hesitate to contact me at the email or phone number below.
