X Platform

A hardware powerhouse, the X platform addresses the Remote production, Contribution and Distribution markets. Purposely built for all future compression needs, the X series supports AVC, HEVC, TICO and JPEG2000 compression and decompression. It is a high-capacity, ultra-low latency platform with video firewall functionality. The X can be delivered either as a 1 RU – X10, or a 2 RU – X20 chassis. Small on rack space, power-efficient, modular, hot-swappable and with built-in redundancy, it is the most powerful and efficient video processing unit on the market. The modules are interchangeable between X10 and X20.

XC Platform

The all-round, multi-purpose XC chassis addresses the broadcasting market. With a range of modules, it provides all functionality required in a broadcast distribution head-end. It can be delivered as a 1 RU – XC5100, or a 4 RU – XC5000 chassis. Versatile with numerous redundancy options, the XC can be customized according to market segments; Cable, Satellite, Terrestrial, FTTH, Corporate or OTT. The module ecosystem of the 4 RU – XC5000 allows for variations and iterations by mixing and matching down to the core of any broadcasting requirement.

ABR Packager

The Appear ABR Packager is a modular software solution providing powerful video ingest and segmentation engine, high-performance storage solution, just-in-time packager/DRM engine and origin server in one complete suite. The ABR system runs on industry-standard off-the-shelf server hardware and can be customized to meet the operators´ specific streaming requirements. With its innovative architecture, our ABR Server allows for seamless growth and scalable redundancy – both through vertical brick-by-brick scaling and horizontal functional separation.

Software-based video compression

Our software-based video compression offers high-performance H.264 and H.265 software transcoding into multiple profiles up to UHD with HDR. Encoding quality levels can be chosen to achieve desired quality vs. speed, making it possible to target a large number of different requirements. Running on COTS servers and supporting IPTV, OTT and VOD applications, all screens become picture perfect.
