iStreamPlanet Selects Interxion's London Data Center as Host
London hub will let iStreamPlanet stream major sporting events to a growing global audience.

iStreamPlanet, which provides live Internet broadcast services and automated workflow tools, has selected Interxion's London data center as host for its European Broadcast Operations Center. iStreamPlanet will use the center to provide live streams of sports events, such as major European soccer and tennis taking place this summer.

To set up the center, iStreamPlanet has installed a satellite downlink facility so that it can stream live events to multiple content delivery networks (CDNs) and take in broadcast content from fiber and satellite connections.

Interxion points to it content hubs' aggregation, storage, exchange, management, and distribution features as reasons why it can satisfy the growing demand for streamed content across a variety of channels.

"We were attracted by Interxion's commitment to providing the best-of-breed data center facilities combined with its unique focus on the digital media sector," says Khurram Siddiqui, iStreamPlanet's vice president and GM Europe. "As a provider of live streaming services, connectivity and reliability are obviously of paramount importance to us. By housing our broadcast operations center within Interxion, we can take advantage of a wide array of tier 1 ISPs, CDNs, carriers, and Internet exchanges, as well as its diverse digital community of digital media service providers - all of which allows us to scale our business while delivering the highest quality of live, premium content streaming and an outstanding end user experience."
