Agama Showcases Industry's Only Viable OTT Video Quality Assurance Solution at IP&TV World Forum

Linköping, Sweden(3/12/2012) -

Agama Technologies, the DTV quality assurance expert, is to showcase its end-to-end quality assurance solution evolved for over-the-top video services at IP&TV World Forum 2012. The solution utilizes Agama's leading experience in supplying scalable and full-coverage video service assurance systems to telcos and cable operators worldwide, and forms the industry's only viable and proven offering for fully concurrent and real-time quality monitoring of adaptive bitrate streaming TV services across the complete OTT distribution chain.

Leveraging the established approach for assuring each individual TV experience by continuously monitoring video quality all the way from service creation to the point of media consumption for all subscribers; Agama has evolved its proven DTV Monitoring Solution to assure the end-to-end distribution of OTT services. The ready-to-deploy solution allows OTT services to be monitored together with traditional IPTV, Cable, as well as hybrid Satellite and DTH services, making it ideal for all TV operators moving to multiscreen offerings. Fundamental massive scalability, refined and role-based user interfaces, together with powerful reporting and APIs for OSS/BSS integration, help streamlining key operator processes across multiple delivery platforms to ultimately reduce operational costs and churn.

"OTT technologies represent a tremendous opportunity for operators to reach customers and support new ways of consuming media, such as 'TV Everywhere'. At the same time it is more complex, introducing completely new requirements and challenges for ensuring the customer experience. Understanding the end-to-end service quality in these systems will be crucial for securing revenue streams, maintaining a satisfied customer base and enforcing SLAs," says Johan Görsjö, Director of Product Management at Agama Technologies. "To reflect the real-world needs of these operators, we have evolved the Agama DTV Monitoring Solution in close collaboration with our customers who are now expanding their offerings with OTT services. As a result, we are excited to be able to offer the industry's only viable end-to-end quality assurance solution for all IP, Cable and OTT TV services that provides operators with insight into the service quality for each individual end-customer, regardless of distribution form and player device."

The Agama DTV Monitoring Solution is a unique solution for continuous and real-time monitoring and quality assurance of all forms of video delivery, from service creation to consumption, enabling proactive customer experience management. With extended support for multiple adaptive bitrate formats, including both  Apple® HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) and Microsoft® Silverlight Smooth Streaming, the solution can be efficiently tailored for any OTT and multiscreen environment. It features sophisticated and seamlessly scalable components for powerful monitoring in the OTT head-end and CDN, as well as for fully concurrent and non-intrusive service quality assurance directly in each and every set-top box, connected TV, smartphone or other player device. Utilizing a well-proven integration process for its embedded in-device monitoring client, Agama continues its extensive partnership with leading STB and other CPE vendors, and can already offer OTT support pre-integrated in multiple commercially deployed 'Agama enabled' CPEs and media consumption devices.

At  IP&TV World Forum 2012, taking place March 20-22 in London, visitors to Agama's stand 179 can experience live demonstrations of end-to-end monitoring set-ups for multiplatform delivery and multiscreen environments, and preview the forthcoming version 4.2 of the Agama DTV Monitoring Solution.
