Zattoo enters US market with TV Everywhere for Hotwire Communications

Zattoo and Hotwire Communications enter a long term agreement for a feature-rich TV Everywhere service.

US telecommunications service provider Hotwire Communications has chosen Swiss OTT and IPTV pioneer Zattoo and the Zattoo End-To-End platform to introduce their new service to several hundreds of thousands of customers.

Florida based Hotwire Communications offers ISP services under their Fision brand to a large and growing number of communities and customers in Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania and states along the eastern seaboard.

The TV Everywhere Service will be launched in Q4 2017. In the initial phase, focus will be on mobile devices with iOS, Android and Windows 10 operating systems, as well as on a browser player for PC & Mac. Soon afterwards the service will be extended to include streaming on various other devices. Along with linear Live TV and Video on Demand in SD, HD and UHD quality, the service will offer state-of-the-art interactive functionality such as instant restart, time shift, catchup TV, network DVR. 

In Europe, Zattoo has been providing their fully hosted & managed End-to-End solution to telcos, cable and mobile network operators for several years with great success. The Zattoo platform covers the entire TV service from ingest all the way to the applications including content protection for efficient monetization. With this scalable platform - the Zattoo “TV Hub” -  the operator does not have to invest in any hardware or software for its own TV service.

For the market entry in the US, Zattoo will now deploy a central “TV Hub” in the US as well. It will be hosted in Hotwire Communications’ co-location facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
