Witbe Introduces Intelligent Video Monitoring Device at SCTE Cable-Tec and TelcoTV

Unique technology designed to monitor Quality of Experience (QoE) in each local loop

New York, NY(15 Oct 2012)

At the SCTE CableTec Expo and the TelcoTV Conference & Expo this month, Witbe will be launching the World’s first device specifically designed to monitor Quality of Experience (QoE) of live and on-demand video services at the edge of Telco and Cable operators’ networks, down to the customer premises.

Witbe’s TVR1800 connects to any type of IP, cable, satellite, DTT or hybrid set-top boxes, tablets, smartphones and computers. Leveraging its unique ability to replicate subscriber’s actions, Witbe’s TVR1800 is the only Video Monitoring Robot on the market. It provides factual information on the actual customer-experience in real time and instantly highlights service trends and quality issues.

Thanks to its optimized footprint and its ability to be managed remotely, Witbe’s Video Monitoring Robot can be deployed across networks, even at customer homes. All test results from each Video Monitoring Robot are aggregated in a central reporting platform offering Service Providers a detailed understanding of how their subscribers experience their video service in each local loop. It gives the ability to adjust video services to changing conditions, and deliver the best QoE to subscribers.

Every local loop has different capabilities due to technology, network architecture or usage patterns. Ensuring the best quality for video services requires monitoring each local loop,” explains Jean-Michel Planche, President, Witbe. “Service Providers gather QoS data coming from every piece of network equipment. But in an IP connected world, this doesn’t provide information on the actual user experience. Witbe’s Video Monitoring Robot is the only solution on the market offering a tangible end-user experience view.”

Witbe’s Video Monitoring Robot is available immediately. It will be demonstrated for the first time at the following events:

  • SCTE Cable-Tec Expo, Orlando, Florida – Witbe Booth #1820 – October 17-19
  • Telco TV, Las Vegas, Nevada – Witbe Booth #1019 – October 24-26
