New York, NY(9/25/2014) -
Popcornflix, the free streaming movie and television programming service from Screen Media Ventures, LLC, today launched the next phase of its international expansion program, giving film and TV show fans in seven new booming Asian markets three easy ways to enjoy 100% free movies and TV episodes: on the web, on connected TVs and mobile apps.
Free Popcornflix movies and TV shows are now available on the web and on the Popcornflix app for Android and iOS in Hong Kong, the Philippines, India, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Pakistan. Movie lovers in Singapore and Hong Kong can also now enjoy their favorite movies and shows on Samsung connected TVs.
Popcornflix delivers thousands of full-length movies starring popular actors like Zach Galifianakis, Steve Buscemi and Angelina Jolie – all for free. Film fans can browse titles by actor, genre or director or discover unique films in New Arrivals, Staff Picks, Action/Thrillers, Comedy, Drama, Family/Kids, Horror, Bollywood and much more, including campy classics from Troma Entertainment.
The free streaming service also offers access to exciting television programming, such as the highly acclaimed Nat Geo and Nat Geo WILD series like “Life Below Zero” and “Dr. Oakley, Yukon Vet.” Great kids’ programming is also available for free, including “The Saddle Club,” “The Big Comfy Couch,” “Dancing Down Under” and “Popular Mechanics for Kids,” offering hours of wholesome family entertainment
“We’ve added a dozen new international markets to our distribution this year, making us one of the most widely available free movie services in the world. The fact that we own our own content gives us the flexibility to capitalize on new market opportunities like no other streaming provider in the industry,” said David Fannon, Executive Vice President at Popcornflix. “We’ve seen tremendous reception in Singapore and Hong Kong, so we’re very excited to add these new markets in the region and provide the best movies and TV shows to more viewers on any device for free.”
Popcornflix is an ad-supported platform. Each film includes pre-roll, spot ads and banner ads that offer content and advertising partners a great opportunity to connect with a movie viewing audience. Popcornflix is a trademark of Screen Media Ventures, LLC. All rights reserved.
