STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Net Insight, a leading provider of efficient and scalable transport solutions for media, IP and broadcast networks, today announced that ViewSat, a global provider of broadcast and transmission services for television and radio channels, have selected the Nimbra platform to offer additional services to its clients.
ViewSat is one of the fastest-growing operators within the global broadcast and transmission services industry for television and radio channels. Headquartered in the UK, ViewSat provides services into the Middle East, North Africa, Asia, Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa and operates a series of satellite broadcasting platforms, supplemented with a dedicated fibre network, teleports and playout centre to provide a high-quality infrastructure for customers' digital satellite broadcasting.
ViewSat has selected Net Insight's Nimbra platform as the solution to allow more efficient integration with fibre based video cabling within many carrier hotel locations.
Veiwsat will be using its Video Access Modules and SFP Video Access Modules to run services between their uplink locations and a telehouse in London over a Gbe IP Link. In addition ViewSat will be utilizing Net Insight's 1+1 Hitless Video Protection and 1+1 Hitless Ethernet Protection. By wrapping in the 1+1 Hitless Protection and Ethernet Service carriage the Nimbra solution allows ViewSat to reduce the number of elements in the transmission chain. Net Insight's end-to-end Performance Monitoring also allows ViewSat to provide end-to-end visibility to its clients of the services being carried.
