Mixmoov technology powers web video application promoting Eurovision

Powerful, scalable video rendering API enables automatic video generation for Super-Hit contest to promote Eurovision.

Toulouse, France(18 May 2013)

Mixmoov, the premier Cloud Video Editing solution company, provides the technology behind the Super-Hit web video application run to promote the Eurovision Song Contest this year. The Eurovision Song Contest 2013 is the 58th annual Eurovision Song Contest and takes place in Malmö, Sweden. It is the largest annual European event in its domain and attracts an estimated 100 million TV viewers.

This year's Eurovision Song Contest is sponsored by TeliaSonera. It is TeliaSonera’s ambition to make this event the most connected, user centric and shared in the context of today's social media environment. The experience is called Eurovision Super-Charged. A main part of this experience is the Super-Hit video messaging application http://superhit.supercharged.eurovision.tv It allows users and fans to choose video clips of songs from earlier Eurovision contests, string together a unique video message and share it socially. The Super-Charged experience also provides users a chance to win prizes.

The automatic video rendering API from Mixmoov powers video rendering for the Super-Hit application. It takes media including videos, images and music with a video structure description as input and sends generated videos in return. The solution is scalable and can render hundreds of thousands of videos simultaneously. This makes it useful for short-term, high volume applications as well as long-term usage on websites. Developers are free to create their own interfaces too. For more information, email solutions@mixmoov.com

“We are quite excited about this,” said Ralph Pélamourgues, CEO, Mixmoov. “With our render API, the interface design can be left to the clients, who can choose to use one of our standard interfaces, customize them, or develop their own like in the case of Eurovision. This provides new tools and options for developers and systems integrators to create their own experiences and use Mixmoov in the backend. It will help our entry into new markets and empower those who want to make changes to the user experience, thus boosting creativity.”
