Kulabyte Supports Live HD Adobe Flash Player 9 and H.264 for Adobe Flash Media Server 3

Joins Adobe Flash Media Solutions Partner Program
Amsterdam - IBC 2007(9/6/2007) -

Kulabyte?, a leading provider of advanced video encoding optimization technologies, introduces the newest member of its Express product line, delivering live 2-pass VBR SD and HD H.264 and VP6 video support for Adobe? Flash? Media Server 3.

With the recent announcement of H.264 support in the Adobe? Flash? player, Kulabyte customers now have a choice between H.264 and VP6 when encoding for Flash? Player compatible video. Since Kulabyte implements MainConcept?s H.264 encoder, Express Series customers will realize optimized performance and quality from their H.264 streams for Adobe Flash Player compatible video.

Kulabyte has also joined the Adobe Flash Media Solutions Partner program. The partnership program establishes a framework between both companies with Kulabyte being one of Adobe?s encoding partners as it relates to rich media content creation and distribution.

?We?re excited to be a member of the Adobe Flash Media Solutions Partner program. Now that Flash Media Server 3 and Adobe Flash Player 9 support both HD and H.264 in addition to On2 VP6; our customers will have the ultimate in flexibility, scalability, quality, and performance from Kulabyte?s Flash products,? said Chris Gottschalk, co-founder and chief technology officer for Kulabyte.

The Adobe Partner Program provides Kulabyte with key marketing, development, sales, and support-oriented benefits in driving Flash Player video business for both companies.

?We are thrilled to have Kulabyte join the expanding Flash Media Solutions Provider program. Kulabyte?s unique video processing technology will enable SD and HD encoding for Flash at the highest quality and performance. Kulabyte?s products are an important addition to the Flash ecosystem, helping to create a great customer experience for content creators and users,? said Kevin Towes, product manager, Flash Media Server at Adobe.

?Over the past several years, we have worked hard to create a large ecosystem of MainConcept-based encoding and decoding solutions in the market,? said Dirk Peters, CEO of MainConcept LLC. ?We think our encoder customers will greatly benefit by the recent decision from Adobe to integrate MainConcept?s H.264 and AAC decoders in the Flash Player. The Kulabyte Express multi-format encoding suite which incorporates our H.264, MPEG-2 and JPEG2000 codecs delivers exciting results to customers. Kulabyte?s speed and quality advantages will help make higher quality video a reality.?

The entire Kulabyte Express Series will be available for order at IBC 2007 in Booth 6.111, Hall 6 of the RAI Convention Center, on September 7th in Amsterdam. The Kulabyte Express Premier product is available today and orders may be taken over the phone at +1.512.795.4228 or at sales@kulabyte.com.
