A Global Content Distribution Service

Quicklink are proud to present a unique partnership with SNG Broadcast Services, in which both companies can provide the first ever “IP Global Content Distribution Service” through a fibre link connection to any worldwide destination.

Francis Lovell from SNG explains “Now any Quicklink broadcast client can deploy a Quicklink encoder and can transmit directly to the SNG Network Control Centre (NCC).  The video & audio signals can then either be routed to the BT Tower in London or delivered via an existing satellite or fibre network.”

Most UK broadcasters, many international broadcasters and other large production companies, together with fibre and transmission suppliers have links to the BT Tower, London. Direct connectivity via continental fibre links are also available through SNG’s partnerships with such international fibre providers as Level 3 Vyvx Solutions, the Venus network  and Tata Communications*.

This service solution provides a cost effective strategy to businesses who wish to stream live content to any global destination. Even in certain inaccessible areas of the world where it is more difficult to obtain a signal you can now stream live video without the higher price of traditional broadcasting methods.

Francis further explains:  “Direct connectivity with BT Tower makes direct global reception significantly easier to achieve, particularly for those operators with limited conventional broadcast infrastructure.  By booking these connectivity services on an occasional basis, significant infrastructure savings can be achieved”

Quicklink offer a range of encoders that can be used with this direct connectivity to the BT Tower including iPhone App, rack mount encoders, bonding backpacks, camera mount units and software only for Mac and PC.  The Quicklink encoding solutions benefit from pre-set approved profiles that are optimised with advanced error concealment to work seamlessly on the public internet whilst maintaining broadcast quality. The Quicklink encoding units are simple to operate or can be easily remotely operated by the receiving control centre.
