Vzaar Announces Framework for iPad Video App Development

Companies looking to show their videos on the iPad's large screen now have one more option for easy app creation. A couple weeks back Sorenson Media announced a partnership with ProKarma to streamline video app development, and now Vzaar has gotten into the game.

The UK-based online video platform has announced the release of its Objective-C Framework for OS X and iPhone, which will help Apple iPhone, iPad, and desktop developers speed app creation.

"We have developed an Objective-C library for our API to help Apple developers build video apps right into their own applications. There is no quicker way to enable your iPhone or iPad application with video," says Adrian Sevitz, Vzaar's co-founder and CTO.

Vzaar worked with Daniel Kennet of KennetNet Software Ltd to create the framework.

"I designed the framework to fit in with a Cocoa developer's existing skill set. The Vzaar framework fits in with Cocoa's design patterns and you'll feel right at home as soon as you start working with it," says Kennet.

"This is an exciting release for us at Vzaar and credit to the Vzaar development team whose idea it was to build this framework. We have a number of clients already using this library in development and we are eagerly awaiting the release of their applications," adds Stephen McCluskey, CEO of Vzaar.

Vzaar's API has recently been used for user-generated content campaigns in Germany (for MTV) and Puerto Rico (for Budweiser). While those campaigns didn't include iPhone or iPad apps, each produced video that was playable on both devices.
