In the face of increasing competition from services like Netflix, Amazon-owned LoveFilm announced video-on-demand partnerships with ITV and BBC Worldwide.

The ITV partnership, a renewal of a previous agreement, gives LoveFilm's subscribers instant access to an archive of ITV titles, including Marchlands, Above Suspicion, Prime Suspect, Inspector Morse, Cold Feet, and Secret Diary of a Call Girl. According to LoveFilm, the renewed agreement adds additional titles for LoveFilm Instant members, but didn't specify a number.

"LoveFilm's partnership with ITV is the icing on the cake of our LoveFilm Instant service as it brings more top TV content together with world class movies, delivered across multiple platforms, all for one low monthly price," says Simon Calver, CEO of LoveFilm.

LoveFilm's BBC Worldwide partnership gives streaming subscribers access to shows including Doctor Who, Life on Mars, Spooks, Whitechapel, and a range of documentaries.

"We've had a content partnership with LoveFilm for several years now and it's great to see this evolve digitally. We're delighted to give LoveFilm's subscribers the opportunity to instantly watch their favourite British shows, wherever and whenever they wish, alongside a diverse range of great programmes and films," says Lisa Rousseau, head of U.K. and Ireland, sales and distribution, for BBC Worldwide.
