thePlatform and LSDLive Sign OEM Agreement to Provide Cloud-Based Video Publishing Services Throughout Latin America

Leading live event video production company in Latin America to offer turnkey live and on-demand video services leveraging thePlatform’s mpx video management system.

Seattle, WA(26 Jun 2013)

thePlatform, the leading white-label video publishing company and independent subsidiary of Comcast, and LSDLive, the leading live event producer in Argentina, today announced a new strategic agreement to provide comprehensive publishing services for live and on-demand video, across devices, throughout Latin America. The companies also announced that their first joint customers include several of the most respected media companies in the region.

Under this new agreement, LSDLive has licensed thePlatform’s mpx system, which will be bundled as a complement to LSDLive’s suite of video production services, encoding, uploading, and live event technical support. With mpx providing the back-end, customers will be able to manage and distribute live and on-demand videos to their own websites, third-party sites, smartphones, tablets, and more. In addition, mpx provides a simple Web-based console for managing their video libraries, highly customizable video players, enterprise-grade reliability, and more.

“thePlatform makes video publishing easy, at scale, for many of the largest media and entertainment companies in the world,” said Marcelo Brodsky, president of LSDLive. “mpx was the obvious choice when it came time to partner with a cloud-based video management system that could meet our needs. Together, LSDLive is even better placed to provide expanded services throughout the region.”

“We’ve had our eye on the tremendous opportunity in Latin America for some time,” said Marty Roberts, senior vice president of sales and marketing at thePlatform. “Now, with LSDLive, we have a partner with proven experience and an exceptional reputation serving the Latin America video market. Their expertise in live events, coupled with our cloud-based video management system, will provide programmers, TV operators, and other content owners an unmatched choice for their video businesses.”
