VidiGo and never.no launch cost-effective ‘Social Media Hub’ TV solution

New York/Amsterdam (09 Sep 2013)

VidiGo and never.no are proud to announce the solution to leverage the power and potential of social TV, audience interaction and participatory television. The jointly released turnkey platform is an intuitive, easy to use and complete Social Media Hub. The Hub is a combined Social Management and CG product to deliver efficient and cost effective social media capabilities for all broadcasters.

The ‘Social Media Hub’ enables end-to-end interactive television formats for broadcasters with fast, open and appealing graphic capabilities. Broadcasters will benefit from the integration of never.no’s Social TV Interactivity Suite with Vidigo Graphics for cost effective social media solutions. Operators can control incoming social media content and effortlessly publish on air, with a full toolkit available to control the graphics.

never.no’s ‘Interactivity Suite’ is used to effortlessly aggregate user-generated and geo-located content from social media sites including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Google+ directly into programming, before being moderated and published for onair playout. This allows for a variety of exceptionally interactive new formats to be developed and seamlessly executed to engage TV audiences in a participatory fashion.

VidiGo’s expertise lies in the enhanced ability to connect to online environments by offering a native connection with web technologies such as Flash and HTML. For broadcasters, this means a fast and open platform that supports 2D and 3D graphics while also supporting traditional broadcast protocols.

VidiGo CCO Reinout Lempers: “Developing a complete social media TV solution together with never.no has been a great journey, where we were able to use our know-how of broadcast graphics and never.no’s know-how of social media. The Social Media Hub is a great interactive add-on for broadcasters to increase their exposure and generate traffic for their website, but also to utilize viewer comments to improve content.”

Lars Lauritzsen, CEO of never.no stated: “We’re very happy about this joint offering and our collaboration with Vidigo. The Vidigo Social Media Hub offers the best cost/benefit ratio in the social TV technology market. We believe discriminating customers will share our enthusiasm, and we already see smart organizations signing up to it.”

never.no and Vidigo will be premiering V1 of the Social Media Hub at both the never.no booth (7.A09) and Vidigo booth (7.H30). The demo will feature a social ticker, popup, social media images, polling and wordcloud with graphics that are customizable out of the box.
