ShareStream’s Online Video Platform Now Includes Recording App for Mobile Teaching and Learning and Campus Communications

RESTON, Va.—ShareStream Education (“ShareStream”), a leading provider of online video and media management solutions for education, announced today the launch of ShareStream Capture, a native mobile app for video capture. ShareStream users at campuses worldwide who are granted the required privileges will now be able to record, upload and share media content from mobile devices with ease.
ShareStream Mobile Capture integrates seamlessly with the ShareStream Video Platform, a campus-wide media management solution for the full lifecycle of media.

The ShareStream Native App for Mobile Capture is an ideal solution for:
- Video Assignments: Students can use the app to easily create responses to video assignments, and then submit assignments to instructors for assessment.
- Competency-Based Education (CBE): Students can demonstrate mastery of a skill or knowledge of a concept by recording and capturing a video using the app, and then submitting the recording to an instructor for review.
- Active Learning: Students are able to take a more participatory role in the learning process by creating media content and sharing it with instructors and peers for collaboration.
- Lecture Capture: The app complements traditional lecture-capture appliances and products for automated room capture with an easy-to-use solution for personal capture. Instructors are able to create content from mobile devices anytime/anywhere in a few simple steps; tag content with metadata; and upload recordings to the course folders in the ShareStream Platform for which the instructor has privileges.
The ShareStream Video Capture App is part of the sequential rollout of ShareStream Next, the next generation of the ShareStream Online Video Platform (OVP). ShareStream’s new app is currently in closed beta at academic institutions in four countries across three continents. ShareStream anticipates that the app will be generally available to ShareStream clients running the ShareStream Next release prior to the start of the 2017 Fall Semester.
