IBC sees Civolution’s NexGuard Demonstrate Critical Role of Forensic Watermarking in Protecting Entire Lifecycle of High Value Content

Civolution's NexGuard announces its IBC 2015 demonstrations and show plans

London(14 Jul 2015)

IBC on-stand demonstrations include content protection for Premium VOD and live sports

Eindhoven, The Netherlands, July 14th, 2015 – NexGuard, a Civolution Company and the leading provider of forensic watermarking technology and solutions, today announced that IBC will see demonstrations of watermarking solutions that meet the most pressing security concerns of the media and content industries across digital cinema, pre-Release, PayTV, live sports and online in SD, HD and 4K.

“Our IBC demonstrations will show how the forensic watermarking technology we have pioneered is now critical in enabling the content industry to identify and prosecute content pirates and prevent illegal distribution throughout the content lifecycle,” said Alex Terpstra, CEO of Civolution, NexGuard’s parent company.

On-stand demonstrations will include:

·       Subscriber-level watermarking for Premium VOD and 4K; the demonstration will showcase how operators can meet the content protection requirements of the Hollywood studios

·     Subscriber-level watermarking for live sports, showing how to trace and take down the source of illegally distributed streams while the sports event is in progress and protect broadcasters’ and operators’ investment in premium sports rights

·       Watermarking for E-Screeners and Pre-release: on-stand demonstrations will help broadcasters and operators see how NexGuard can fit into their 4K-ready or cloud workflow.

“Our IBC stand shows that we continue to design, build and deploy solutions that protect against illegal re-distribution of content, which is fast becoming the main global security threat facing content owners and distributors,” said Harrie Tholen, SVP Worldwide Sales at NexGuard. “An IBC highlight, our live sports demonstration shows how subscriber-level watermarking in the set-top box or OTT service enables us to identify piracy down to customer level very quickly and stop the illegal stream at its source.”

“We expect to see a high-level of interest in our solutions at IBC, particularly from operators distributing premium content such as movies, live sports and 4K,” concluded Tholen.

From its specification as an essential part of Digital Cinema security to being the core technology for broadcast monitoring, tracking of pre-release files, disc screeners and eScreeners, forensic watermarking has become an essential tool in the prevention of illicit redistribution of content. The NexGuard forensic watermarking solutions are designed to meet the full array of evolving security challenges facing the Television and Motion Picture industries across Digital Cinema, Pre-Release, PayTV and Online deployments.
