Amino unveils new 6 Series range – a comprehensive portfolio of 4K Ultra HD and HEVC Hybrid TV Devices

Amino today announces availability of the new Amino 6 Series, a comprehensive range of 4K Ultra HD and HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) Hybrid TV Devices to spearhead operator rollout of next generation entertainment services.

Cambridge, United Kingdom(21 Jan 2016)

According to industry analysts IHS Electronics and Media, strong growth in demand for 4K Ultra HD services is anticipated over coming years. IHS forecast the worldwide 4K Ultra HD display market is expected to reach $52 billion with over 140 million homes watching 4K Ultra HD content by 2020.

Amino CEO Donald McGarva said: “This announcement highlights how the recent acquisition of Entone has enabled the combined company to introduce a full range of 4K Ultra HD and HEVC TV Devices and expand its offering from IPTV to broadcast hybrid TV operators. The new range provides operators with a choice of flexible and future-proof platforms to cost effectively deploy richer and more compelling entertainment services.”

Drive customer loyalty and engagement with vivid details of 4K Ultra HD

4K Ultra HD offers four times the pixel resolution of HDTV with 60Hz frame rate for smooth motion and 10-bit colour for a stunningly realistic viewing experience with striking visual details.

Reduce costs or extend service reach with HEVC

HEVC, also known as H.265, ensures that operators can deliver 4K Ultra HD services cost effectively by providing up to 50% better bandwidth compression than current AVC (H.264) technology. HEVC can also be applied to HDTV services to reduce bandwidth costs or extend service reach to customers with slower internet connections.
