Cleeng, a premium video monetization company based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, announced the launch of Cleeng Live, which it says makes creating live pay-per-view (PPV) events affordable and simple enough for any company.

With Cleeng Live, broadcasters can set up a paywall for free in just two minutes, the company notes. Live events are viewable on multiple devices, and Cleeng handles customer support issues. There's no charge for free live events. For paid events, Cleeng charges 2.5 percent plus $.99 and credit card fees per ticket.

To use Cleeng Live, broadcasters need to first create an event using one of the company's nine templates, then set a price for live access. Once that's done, viewers can start pre-booking access; Cleeng lets companies accept over 150 payment options including promo codes. Management tools let broadcasters track their sales and even viewer satisfaction ratings.

Brightcove and Kaltura are partnering with Cleeng on the live product rollout, and are promising customers a simple user experience and enhanced security. Cleeng Live customers can also stream with Dailymotion, Livestream, YouTube, and more.

Cleeng offers video-on-demand (VOD) payment options, for once the live event has ended.

Clients that have used Cleeng to monetize online video include Cirque du Soleil, TEDMed, the British Basket Ball League, the Swedish Ice Hockey League, and WBA boxing.
