Cleeng Debuts Tattoo Lite, a Watermarking Solution for Live Video
Cleeng helps video creators monetize their original content, and now it helps them protect it, as well.
The premium video monetization company introduced Tattoo Lite today, a watermarking solution for live broadcasts. The original version, Tattoo, launched in 2014. This "lite" version is a client-side device, and the company says it can be launched in hours. It creates a visible watermark to discourage fraud or screen grabbing, works at the player level so that scalability isn't an issue, and doesn’t require stream rerouting from the content delivery network (CDN).
Cleeng created Tattoo Lite based on requests from pay-per-view sports clients including HBO Boxing, Chivas TV, and NBL, says company CEO and founder Gilles Domartini. He adds that the product's speed of deployment is a good match for Cleeng's PPV monetization tools.
“With the speed of deployment and adoption of over-the-top (OTT), the ability to secure premium videos is of paramount importance for broadcasters," Domartini says. "Cleeng has invested significant resources and technology in order to become a leading player in this space in the past three years, and we are excited to bring an innovative and efficient solution to the market."
Founded in 2011 and based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Cleeng has also worked with FIFA/Sportmax TV, Cirque du Soleil, and Dailymotion.
Live pay-per-view monetization company Cleeng will grow its U.S. operations and build up its transaction platform.
Pay-per-view doesn't have to be complicated, says Cleeng, which is launching a fast and flexible template-driven system.
