  • Android IPTV solution by NetUP
    NetUP first to develop the IPTV solution based on Android. It is the NetUP IPTV Middleware server with a number of connected Android-based IP set-top boxes. There is the NetUP.tv application installed on each IP set-top box. The application was developed as a client for IPTV Middleware with user-friendly graphical interface that allows users to get access to all IPTV services. Android-based IP set-top boxes have higher performance and more functions compared to classical ones. There is a number of Android standard features available for users: Web browsing, social networking, gaming, interacting with thousands of applications, such as Skype, YouTube, Google Maps and other. IP set-top boxes with Android have a multitasking function: users can launch several applications and switch between them. The IP set-top box’s hardware is built on ARM architecture and has graphical acceleration. Some of them contain modern Cortex-A8 processors. Due to this the Android-based IP set-top box has higher performance compared to classical IP set-top boxes. The Android-based IPTV solution will be presented at IBC 2011 show in Amsterdam at NetUP’s stand number 13.383.
