For the recent 10th birthday celebration of the Sony VAIO, held in Berlin, July 15, Club VAIO Europe selected Wowza Media Systems, an emerging leader in streaming media server software, and Rambla (www.rambla.be), a cutting-edge Belgian CDN, to provide the live Flash streaming netcast of the event.
Kicking off with keynotes from senior Sony staff, the event included a history of VAIO and an exclusive unveiling of 4 new families of portable computers, most notably the FW series, the world's first 16.4" notebook, hailed as the ultimate HD entertainment notebook
For those who could not attend the festivities on-site, Wowza and Rambla collaborated to provide two simultaneous streams to online viewers all over Europe. The first was a native H.264 stream for the QuickTime? Player; the second an alternative H.264 stream for the Adobe? Flash? Player 9. Web design firm Nascom completed the rich-media experience by creating a stunning Papervison 3D site celebrating VAIO's 10th birthday.
