Accedo Integrates AWS Elemental MediaTailor to Launch Targeted Advertising Solution For Augmented Reality Experiences

Stockholm, Sweden(8/29/2018) -
Accedo, a video experience pioneer, today announced the launch of a targeted advertising solution for Augmented Reality (AR) experiences with the API integration of  Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elemental MediaTailor.

The Accedo AR experience, powered by the Accedo One video platform, is designed to give a TV viewer a more personalised and engaging second-screen experience during long-distance sports events such as marathons, rally, or bicycle races.

AWS Elemental MediaTailor is a cloud-based video service that lets customers insert targeted advertising into video streams without sacrificing broadcast-level quality-of-service. With AWS Elemental MediaTailor, viewers of live or on-demand video each receive a stream that combines content with ads personalized to them.

The integration combines the Accedo One video experience platform with AWS Elemental MediaTailor to allow video service providers, brands, and broadcasters to monetize content with targeted advertising in the AR environment. It also addresses the technical challenges associated with AR device fragmentation, live video synchronization, and other information elements.

Fredrik Anderson, SVP Strategy and Solutions at Accedo, commented: “Having launched our AR prototype earlier this year, we have demonstrated the ability to deliver an extra dimension to certain types of programming. Being able to add targeted advertising with our  AWS integration, will be extremely attractive to media companies, especially for live sports content which tends to attract a large audience.”

AWS Elemental Media Services are managed cloud services that make it fast and easy to prepare, process, and deliver broadcast and multiscreen video at scale. AWS Elemental MediaTailor lets video providers insert individually targeted advertising into their video streams without sacrificing broadcast-level quality-of-service.

The combination of the Accedo AR experience and AWS Elemental MediaTailor means video providers can augment live broadcasts with additional information or experiences, including adding extremely targeted advertising within the AR environment.

Accedo will demonstrate its AR experience and integration with AWS Elemental MediaTailor on the Accedo stand (14.E10) at IBC from 14th to 18th September. You can book a meeting online here.

Accedo (www.accedo.tv) is the trusted video experience transformation pioneer improving the lives of video consumers by the hundreds of millions. Over the years, Accedo has earned the trust of the world’s leading video service providers – customers to whom two goals are paramount: explore new opportunities to monetize video and transform video services to meet rapidly changing consumer expectations.
With this in mind Accedo has developed Accedo One, the first cloud platform dedicated to providing operators, broadcasters and brands with the freedom to build, manage and deploy high-quality, engaging video experiences the way they want to.
