Twofour Digital wins four-year EuroparlTV contract
London(26 Jul 2011)
Twofour Digital has been awarded the contract to continue providing design, development and streaming of European Parliament's official webTV channel, EuroparlTV - the single most ambitious multilingual WebTV channel in the world.
After a competitive tendering procedure, the news is welcomed by the digital team, who have worked hard to build the relationship and provide an excellent service over the last three years.
The channel, which currently broadcasts scheduled content in 23 languages to the 430 million citizens of the EU, will benefit from even more features over the next year.
Social networking, personalisation and increased mobile accessibility were central to the proposition to connect with people across the continent, as well as continuing to use Media Freedom, Twofour's own cloud based tool for broadcasting live & on-demand video.
In this next stage of development, Twofour will also be focusing on content discovery - making it easier for interested parties to find their information. Personalisation - giving users the opportunity to shape their content journeys, filtering the content they are looking for as well as receive recommended content and community engagement - fostering groups of users and supporting those who use the EuroparlTV site who would benefit from additional functionality.
Richard Ward, Twofour, said: "Having worked so hard on the tender we're very excited to have held on to this contract against some tough competition and are already well in to the planning process for the next year which will include development of an entirely new platform."
Paul Tarplee, Managing Director of Twofour Digital added "EuroparlTV is already the most innovative and ambitious WebTV platform in Europe. We are looking forward to delivering an even greater user experience, and extending the reach of EuroparlTV to new digital audiences."
