New York, (06 May 2014)

Today Sherpa Digital Media has announced the appointment of Phil Goldby as Managing Director of EMEA, leading the company’s expansion into the European marketplace.  To support high demand from its global client base, the company is opening a new state-of-art studio in London, which Goldby will oversee.

Goldby is a video and collaboration industry veteran, with over 15 years of experience.  Prior to joining Sherpa Digital Media, Goldby led Reed Elsevier’s multimedia team as the Director of Enterprise Multimedia. He was instrumental in working with the multinational company in providing communication technologies on a global scale, including audio/web conferencing, video streaming and video conferencing, where he increased utilization to 50% by working with end users to drive adoption.  He also held the positions of Technical Services Manager and IT Systems/Senior Systems Engineer while at Reed Elsevier.

While at Sherpa Digital Media, Goldby will focus on building out the company’s European client base and maintaining the high levels of customer service established in the US.  Prior to the opening of the London Sherpa Studio, Goldby will be partnering with local digital video studios that produce high-quality live video to fulfill urgent client needs and compliment existing client efforts in the US.

Goldby will also help to secure new clients and grow the company’s staff in London, with a goal to emulate the company’s success in the US marketplace.  15% of the company’s current client base is in EMEA.

Goldby will report into the executive team, namely K.C. Watson, co-CEO and co-founder of Sherpa Digital Media, Mark Strathdee, CTO and co-founder of Sherpa Digital Media and Ben Chodor, co-CEO of Sherpa Digital Media.

“We’re in the business of creating great video content for clients and focus on serving their growing needs for digital media,” said Ben Chodor, co-CEO of Sherpa Digital Media.  “The explosion of interest in video content in the US is being mirrored in the EMEA marketplace, and we’re excited to be expanding into that industry.”

“Sherpa Digital Media has experienced significant client growth.  We’re a company that understands what companies need when it comes to live video production – from conception to production and distribution,” said K.C. Watson, co-CEO and co-founder of Sherpa Digital Media. “We’re excited to be able to expand into a new marketplace with Phil Goldby at the helm.”

“I’m excited to join the team and work alongside K.C., Mark and Ben to grow the company and meet the overwhelming needs for live video production in the EMEA marketplace,” said Phil Goldby.
