NHK Cosmomedia Europe selects Paywizard Agile to provide holistic subscriber management for JSTV-i OTT platform

Analytics and insights from the Paywizard platform will enable NCME to provide a customer-centric approach to acquiring and retaining customers whilst re-engaging dormant subscribers

London(07 Sep 2017)

Paywizard, the subscription, billing and customer relationship management (CRM) specialist, has today announced that NHK Cosmomedia Europe (NCME), an affiliated company with Japanese national broadcaster, NHK, has selected the Paywizard Agile platform to provide an end-to-end subscription, CRM and billing solution for JSTV-i, NCME’s flagship OTT service and currently the only Japanese language TV service in Europe.

The Agile platform will allow NCME to implement a seamless approach to subscriber management, boosting its ability to act on customer insights and forge stronger and more enduring customer relationships. NCME, which had previously deployed Paywizard’s legacy e-wallet solution MyPaywizard, completed migration to Paywizard Agile on 1st September 2017.

Paywizard provides NCME with a single customer view from the Decision Moments dashboard within Paywizard Agile, enabling NCME to track and analyse subscriber behaviour from all angles. The Decision Moments dashboard provides the ability to monitor the progress of subscribers through each stage of their customer journey in a more seamless way than ever before, allowing them to structure targeted marketing activity and customer engagement at each particular stage.

Jin Imaizumi, Deputy Managing Director, NHK Cosmomedia Europe, said of the deployment: “Having used the MyPaywizard solution for a number of years to manage some of our core business functions, such as micro-payments and customer service management, Paywizard were the perfect fit when looking for a next-generation CRM solution to support our European OTT service.”

“As a trusted partner for nearly a decade, Paywizard understood our challenges and the specific needs we faced in preventing churn and increasing customer engagement. The team worked collaboratively with us to identify the steps needed and were able to seamlessly support our migration to the Agile platform. The end result is a set of powerful subscriber management tools, like the Decision Moments dashboard, that have revolutionised our business model” Imaizumi added.

Alongside the benefits of the Paywizard technology, NCME were also able to benefit from Paywizard’s extensive experience and heritage in supporting pay-TV customers to deliver hybrid functionality across OTT and DTH. Paywizard worked alongside its partners Ericsson and Conax to deliver subscriber management as part of a secure playout solution.

“Though acquiring new customers is a challenge many broadcasters face, re-engaging dormant subscribers is often an even bigger obstacle, particularly when they are so inundated with choice” comments Bhavesh Vaghela, Chief Executive Officer at Paywizard.

“Working with NCME to introduce a truly holistic view of their OTT subscriber base means they are even more powerfully equipped to be able to not only re-engage their customer base, but acquire new customers, and even expand their growth internationally. We’re very excited to work alongside them in this next phase of their evolution” Vaghela concluded.

Notes on ‘Decision Moments’

Decision Moments addresses the critical pay-TV subscriber engagement points most likely to evoke positive or negative emotional reactions and to impact relationships between operators and subscribers during the customer journey. 2. ‘Join’: The process of signing up, as easily and quickly as possible
  3. ‘Consume’: Seamless viewing of appealing content, at any time, location and on any device
  4. ‘Upgrade’: Flexibly upgrading your services package, as and when you like
  5. ‘Downgrade’: Flexibly downgrading your services package, when it suits
  6. ‘Bill’: Receiving accurate, clear and timely bills, using a favoured payment method
  7. ‘Leave’: Cancelling a subscription with as little hassle as possible
  8. ‘Win Back’: Re-joining a service again, at any time, without re-registering.
