Envivio 4Caster C4 Encoders Provide IPTV and OTT Services for Access to Video Anytime, Anywhere
Beijing(3/21/2011) -

Envivio, a leading provider of live and on-demand multi-screen IP video processing and delivery solutions, today announced a new deployment with China Beijing TV Station (BTV). BTV selected Envivio 4Caster C4 Gen III encoders to power its IPTV and over-the-top (OTT) services to Internet and mobile devices. BTV currently offers 12 SD channels and three HD broadcast TV channels with plans to launch Internet TV and mobile TV services shortly.

Envivio offers a powerful encoding/transcoding solution developed specifically for delivery to any screen. The versatile 1-RU 4Caster appliance performs a variety of functions, including: multi-profile encoding, transcoding, packaging, encryption and publishing within a single system that delivers broadcast-quality TV, HTTP streaming and 3GPP mobile video. Envivio’s software-based encoding architecture, Envivio Muse, allows BTV to easily add support for new devices and formats as they expand their services.

“Envivio has a strong reputation in the region, and the quality of experience we achieved with Envivio’s converged end-to-end approach surpassed all of the competition,” said Li Cheng, section chief, Information Network Management Dept. of China BTV. “As we continue to add on additional services and enhance our offering, Envivio’s solutions provide the flexibility and scalability we need to provide viewers with the best possible video service.”
