Amino unveils new operator-focused Android TV 4K UHD device at TV Connect 2017

Amino will showcase at TV Connect 2017 a new small and powerful 4K UHD Android TV device designed specifically for operator-managed deployments.

Cambridge, UK(23 Mar 2017)

Amino, leaders in hybrid TV and cloud services, will showcase at TV Connect 2017 a new small and powerful 4K UHD Android TV device designed specifically for operator-managed deployments.

With the smallest footprint of any certified Android TV device in its class, the Amigo 7 combines a high-speed quad core CPU with the latest hardware accelerated 3D graphics and voice navigation and search features.

Fully optimised and certified for operator-managed Android TV deployments, the device offers access to hundreds of the most widely consumer demanded OTT apps. It is also integrated with Amino’s Engage™ service assurance platform to enable operators to proactively support and manage devices in the field and improve quality of service across any network.

The Amigo 7 also includes dual band 802.11ac Wi-Fi for maximum compatibility and whole home content distribution capabilities.

Now sampling as a product, this new device underlines Amino’s commitment to meet growing demand from operators who want to incorporate Android into their service delivery strategy. In 2016, the company introduced a world first dual mode 4K UHD that delivers Android TV capability alongside the Amino Enable™ software platform.

This latest product is targeted at operators who are seeking to rapidly rollout new entertainment services that capitalise on readily available OTT content to consumers who demand small and stylish devices in the home.

Amino CTO Mark Evensen said: “We’re seeing increasing demand from operators for Android TV capabilities – either as a standalone service or as a complement to existing entertainment delivery strategies. The Amigo 7 is a great addition to our portfolio – powerful, feature-rich and brilliantly packaged in a small and stylish form factor.”

The Amigo 7 will be available to view at Amino’s stand - #23 – at TV Connect which runs from March 28-30 at London’s Excel.
