VidiGo launches open IT-based audio/video engine

VidiGo introduces the world’s first open IT-based audio/video engine for personalized live broadcast production workflows at NAB 2014. VidiGo is taking the next step in IT-based workflows in the broadcast industry

Amsterdam(02 Apr 2014)

VidiGo Engine is an IT-based audio/video engine that has everything needed in a professional broadcast environment. VidiGo Engine comes with an extremely intuitive API making it possible for every broadcaster to create their own workflow.

VidiGo Engine includes SDI I/O’s, video playback, effects, keying, graphics, audio, multi-viewers, automation and more. The software engine runs on a standard IT platform, enabling broadcasters to easily create their own personalized workflow integrated with their existing workflow.

“This solution is going to start a revolution in the industry. The industry is finally reacting on the shift from hardware to software, where VidiGo has already taken the next step to personalization. We were the first in the industry with IT-based solutions for live production, and we are convinced that personalization of workflows has the future. VidiGo is known for its ease-of-use, that’s why we have invested in a very understandable API which is published on our website. We want our customers to create their workflow and not have to think about costly development projects. Start the Engine and take control”, said Reinout Lempers, CCO VidiGo.

Peter IJkhout, CTO VidiGo; “Everyone is talking about the shift to IT-based solutions, but we still see a lot of unnecessary hardware.  We are convinced that the industry will shift dramatically in the coming three years and we are staying ahead of the game. That’s our mission and as thought-leader our obligation to our users. The launch of VidiGo Engine © is just the first step in virtualization of AV workflows. There is more to come.”
