Swedish television network TV4, that country's largest commercial broadcaster, has added its TV4 Play video-on-demand (VOD) service to the Apple TV for Swedish viewers, letting Apple TV owners watch live and on-demand programming. The channel includes both free and paid options.

While free viewers will get access to live and on-demand content, TV4Play paid subscribers will see more titles, as well as seven-day catch-up options for TV4 Group shows. The Apple TV channel includes the ability to add programs to a queue or create a list of favorite shows. The channel will remember where viewers leave off, so they can continue watching a program or movie at a later time.

While a small amount of programming is currently available in high-definition, TV4 says that number will increase in the following months.

“We’re incredibly excited to be the first Scandinavian content provider to launch on the Apple TV," says Annika Larsson Järund, head of TV4 Play. "With HD content from ‘TV4 Play’ on Apple TV, it’s even Easier for viewers to enjoy the wide range of entertainment and quality broadcasting available from TV4.”

TV4's content, which includes news, sitcoms, sports, films, documentaries, and more, is also available via an iOS app.
